Pogo tricks Albert into helping him dig sweet 'taters on the hottest day of the year. Due to very strange circumstance Churchy gets covered in honey and feathers, causing Pogo and Albert to think that a blizzard is on. Pogo goes for help dressed in heaviest possible clothing; Albert steals and eats a beehive, thinking it's a fish pie. Upon discovering that the pie was intended for the fish fry, he decides to take his own life, but Pogo saves him by pumping his stomach with the fire brigade's pulmotor; Seminole Sam sells Porkypine an almost self-playing piano with office space inside; Albert starts a taxi service with Pogo paddling his flatboat; Seminole Sam tricks Albert and Beauregard into joining his newly initiated School for Mice, making the way clear for Sam to rob Pogo's pantry; Albert decides to build a home for the lady bug, and spends seven pages fighting assorted tools; For Arbor Day Churchy and Rackety Coon Chile decide to plant a tree and try to decide which kind of a hole to put into the ground; Pogo and Albert receive a fan letter asking for the book to be more amusing, and decide to put more class into the proceedings; Howland and mailman Chug-Chug try to sell the mail to Albert; Howland and Churchy act out the children's rhyme "The Owl and the Pussycat"; The fire brigade plus assorted followers-on go after Albert in a pie wagon, but Albert thinks they ride a stagecoach that he can hold up; Albert tries tricking the fish into being part of his supper; Albert telling the story of Jack and the beanstalk for Rackety Coon Chile. Pogo acting as Jack, and Albert as his stepmother - as well as the giant; Pogo and Albert require the help of the fire brigade for the Bunny Boy falling into their cake batter; Howland convinces Albert he can make millions doing washing, and makes him begin at washing Howland's dirty clothing; Alabaster and Rackety Coon Chile trick Albert into extreme foolery using the instructions for a jig-saw puzzle; Porky goes to work in his own clock as a cuckoo; Pogo and the grasshopper watch the changing of the [ant] guard (quite literally), and trick the ant queen out of her sandwiches; Reenactment of the "Chicken Little" story with Pup Dog acting the part of Chicken Little, and the cast in general playing along, Albert being the King; Albert eats Howland's and Churchy's atomic experiment, making them think he can explode any minute; Churchy of the fire brigade brings marshmallows to the fire; Churchy dresses up in fireman's clothing for frying sausages; Albert does hat tricks; Churchy chasing butterflies catches Miz Mam'selle's bow; The ants trick Albert out of the contents of his sandwich; Howland seems to enjoy "Pogo Possum" #5, but is actually reading Shakespeare; Churchy brings his lunch to the concert in a violin case; The rabbit cannot hear Albert asking if he wants any tea
