Schafft, posing as a doctor, switches Brig. Steele's artificial arm for one filled with explosives. It is hoped Steele will unwittingly carry the bomb into a War Cabinet meeting the same day. Flint is onto the ruse and tracks down Schafft's bogus office. Flint learns of the plan from Schafft's assistant, then poses as a taxi driver to pick up Steele. Schafft has tailed Flint and forces Flint's taxi into the Thames. Flint and Steele escape, minus Steele's arm which explodes harmlessly in the water.; Sgt. Dunn and his crew have to embark for Normandy in a tank (Old Calamity) that is not their own. It proves unresponsive at the controls, ramming the landing ship's bow doors during embarkation. The damage means the ship can't be used, so the rest of the tanks disembark. The landing ship catches on fire shortly after and explodes. Later, on the Normandy beach, Old Calamity gets stuck in the sand but shoots up some German anti-tank guns, thus saving the squadron.; Kane crashlands the damaged Anson but winds up in hospital. He discharges himself and returns to his squadron, were he takes part in a dogfight. His old wound opens up and he winds up back in hospital.; At Maleme, a British tank counter-attack fails because the tanks have been issued with the wrong ammo. Tommy's company have to retreat under a covering barrage. Meanwhile the German naval invasion fleet has been spotted out to sea.; Len's ghostly father helps American soldiers capture the saboteurs trying to derail the troop train with Len on board. Back now in England, and Len is posted to a fighter training squadron but is quickly grounded.
