A crying, inconsolable Veronica sees Archie off at the train station, then immediately goes to the beach with a handsome new boy. When the train breaks down, Archie comes back and goes looking for Ronnie, worried that she's heartbroken over his departure.; Jughead borrows a book from Veronica's library, and to Veronica's horror, the book is "Playing the Game," the book that taught her all her secrets for manipulating men. Betty and Veronica try to get the book away from Jughead before Archie gets a look at it.; The girls find the water in Veronica's pool too cold to jump into, so Archie and Jughead give them some even colder water from a hose.; After Archie brags that he'd never be jealous, Veronica tries to test him by letting him think her old friend Toni Clark is a boy named Tony.; Archie chides Veronica for constantly forgetting things: her shoes, words, and -- apparently -- her purse.; Betty is upset when Veronica makes fun of her reproduction of an 18th century writing desk. Jughead decides to fool Veronica by making Betty's desk look like a real antique.; Betty offers to break her date with Archie and let Veronica go out with him, and Veronica refuses, convinced that this is some conspiracy against her.; Veronica gets a date with a handsome lifeguard, but he turns out to be a health nut.; Betty buys lipstick advertised as "irresistible," but Archie finds it easy to resist.; Betty tries to get Archie's attention by appearing in a pet shop window with a "Take Me Home" sign.; Hap wants Jinx to watch an educational TV program.; Shrimpy finds a dollar, but gives it back to the boy who lost it, who just happens to be going to the candy store.; The crowd at Pop's is so loud that Betty and Veronica go to adjoining phone booths to gossip by phone.; Jinx's parents go out looking for her. Meanwhile, Jinx has come home to watch television.; When Archie jumps into the bleachers to catch a fly ball, Veronica has to remind Betty that she can only keep the baseball, not the baseball player.; Veronica hits her golf ball into the woods. Betty warns her to be alert when Reggie goes to help her find it.; Reggie burrows like a mole to sneak up on girls at the beach.; Trudy makes sure she doesn't lose her boyfriend, by leading him with a chain and collar.; Reggie promises Betty a day on his pleasure craft, but the boat turns out to be a raft.; The new boy next door brings Betty a huge bouquet of flowers.
