When Betty dates Archie, Veronica loans her a brooch to wear. With Veronica's usual ulterior motive, the borrowed brooch transmits a radio signal so that Veronica can keep an eye on the pair. When a cape with the brooch blows out of Archie's jalopy and is grabbed by a playful hound, Veronica has to follow the signal through some less-than-desirable places.; Betty and Veronica decide that Archie is too agreeable and want him to be more more forceful. Of course, when Archie tries to be forceful, the girls don't like it.; Veronica is overly upset when her father loses $250,000 in his business, even though he is still worth four or five million dollars. She gets little sympathy from her friends, who send her a joke "care" package and show up at a party at her house dressed in rags. Veronica doesn't appreciate the humor, but her father thinks it's hilarious.; Veronica tries on expensive furs in a store. Betty wishes she could own a fur piece, but can't afford anything.; Then and now snapshots featuring the gang.; When his team's baseball game is threatened to be rained out, Shrimpy counters by holding an umbrella while playing the outfield.; Betty is shocked when some of last week's gossip turns out to be true.
