A newspaper editor gives Bugs the assignment of finding out what happened to the town of Bleak Point, which has vanished. It turns out that the town never existed and the assignment was just a ploy to get Bugs out of the editor's sight. Bugs and Porky go to the remote mountain location, which is just a random spot selected by the editor. By coincidence it is close to an underground hideout for a pair of counterfeiters, who try to scare Bugs and Porky away.; Thinking they will bring good luck, the leader of an ocean expedition takes Bugs and Porky along. The ship is plagued with bad luck and when the ship reaches its destination, Bugs and Porky, who are now considered "unlucky" are sent down in the ship's diving bell. They find a city of ocean dwellers, the "Sea Mortals," who are planning on attacking the surface dwellers. After seeing Bugs' appetite for carrots, they call off the invasion, figuring they'd never be able to feed the surface people if they all ate as much as Bugs.; Bugs is an incompetent dishwasher at a café.; Bugs visits Porky's house to do some reading but finds that all the spots under reading lamps are occupied.; Bugs balks when Porky makes him take a cold shower.
