However, newspaper editor Paul Proof hires detectives who find enough evidence to clear Gulp and get a Grand Jury indictment against Torp.; Shyster lawyer Sam Sleazy tampers with the jury and gets Turk Torp declared innocent of murder.; Fearing for her life, Annie decides to leave Gooneyville.
