A schemer from Princess Valla's city comes to Kaänga's jungle and takes the princess's bracelet from Kaänga. Kaänga, Ann, and N'geeso pursue the thief back to the city, where Ann is taken captive. The schemer, Kasna, demands that Valla follow the law and wed the holder of the bracelet; if she refuses, he will kill Ann. Kaänga and N'geeso arrive in time to stop the ceremony; Kasna is killed; and Valla elects to keep her bracelet herself.; Priestess Senga plots to have her personal assassin, K'bali, exonerated of his crimes at a public trial. Camilla thwarts her plans and Senga and K'bali are both killed by leopards.; Escorting a government official and his daughter on a hunt for a white giraffe, Terry and the hunters are taken captive by a white priestess and her tribe.
