The Archies meet a soldier who was wounded in Vietnam and is confused and depressed about all the trouble in the world today. When he sees that kids in Riverdale oppose the war but get along without rioting or racial prejudice, the soldier goes back to the veterans' hospital with hope that the younger generation can fix the world's problems.; The Archies discover that the river is full of dead fish, killed by chemicals from the Lodge paper mill. They go to Mr. Lodge himself to warn him about what his factories are doing to the water and air. When he gets this new information about the environment, Lodge resolves to change his ways: "I had no idea you kids today were so informed about what's going on around us today!"
