In a flashback we see Eli and his burned-out hippie friends meet Martinique Jason, who is amnesiac and reeling from the psychic backlash of M-Day. She latches on to Eli's dreams and begins to create the illusion of hippie San Francisco. In the present, hearing of the X-Men causes the Hippie Goddess to remember that her name is Martinique, and decide it's time to confront them. She makes the psychic trail easy for Emma to follow and sets her and Cyclops up to be accosted by the brainwashed Iceman [hippie name: Frosty], Warpath [hippie name: Running Sun], Hepzibah [hippie name: Lady Kitten] and Angel [hippie name: Angel]. Meanwhile in Russia the former head of Russia's mutant military program tortures Wolverine and Nightcrawler while trying to get Colossus to believe in patriotism. Or something. Nightcrawler escapes, and their interrogator releases Omega Red on them. However, Omega Red kills the interrogator before turning to fight the X-Men.
