The Lodge family is taking a cruise for Christmas vacation but Veronica is sad that she's going to miss Christmas with her friends.; Archie and his friends each make a New Years Resolution and then meet again in a month to see who has kept their resolution.; Archie accidentally leaves the Christmas present he bought Veronica behind after playing ping-pong with Reggie. Reggie means to return it to Archie but ends up giving it to Betty instead.; After being thrown in jail, Dr. Zarkon activates another monster, this time a pigeon the size of a 747. Meanwhile, Gizmo and Wheels are flying to Blatvaria, the home of Hector Von Gloom, alias Dr. Gloom, when the sad Dr. attacks their plane.; When Dilton laments about being unpopular, Betty makes him the most popular person in the school through a group of articles in the student paper.; Jughead and Ethel lose a swing contest against Chuck and Nancy, and Archie and Betty lose a tango dance contest against Veronica and Reggie. But it turns out that the second place prize is superior in Jughead's mind.; When Mr. Weatherbee cancels a school dance, Chuck Clayton creates a cartoon for the school paper that makes Mr. Weatherbee reconsider.; Veronica is in a rush to finish her last minute shopping.; Reggie locks Archie in a tool shed so he can play Santa Claus at Veronica's party.; The gang is going to play "kissing games" but the boys end up fighting over who is going first.; The giant pigeon flies to New York and news of an airliner being hijacked to Blatvaria travels quick. Red then splits the team: he, Spike and Squint will journey to Blatvaria to rescue Wheels and Gizmo, while Nitro and Angel deal with the monster pigeon.; Angel gives Nitro an idea for dealing with the giant pigeon, while Spike defeats one of Gloom's robots. Then Red, Squint and Spike find Gizmo and Wheels in Dr. Gloom's torture chamber.; In Gloom's torture chamber, he subjects the team to worst thing of all: the panned flute maestro Blanfir. He then lets the Explorers' go free. Meanwhile Nitro and Angel set up a large pigeon balloon from the last Thanksgiving's Day Parade that decoys the monster pigeon. The decoy and the smitten monster then travel to Blatvaria, where Nitro programmed a computer to take the 2 giants.; Riverdale High is sponsoring a charity toy drive but the students are distracted by playing with the toys they are donating.; Veronica tries to paint a picture to enter in the country club art show.; The teachers try to annoy Archie by pretending not to notice his long blond hair. He foresaw this, and is amusing himself. He pretends to give it up, but only sells the wig to Jughead, who now sports it around the school.; Archie gets Veronica a master remote to replace all the remote controls she currently has.; When the boys hear there is a college scout in the stands they all start grandstanding during a basketball game.; Veronica refuses to go on a double date with Betty and Cody.; Archie and Jughead object to the new mannish style of women's fashions.; Mr. Lodge and Smithers panic when Archie leaves the Lodges' house with a tool kit in hand.; Betty, Tomoko and Nancy write an article for the school paper about the district's proposal to start school earlier in the day.; Veronica loses one of her diamond earrings on a hayride with the gang and everyone tries to help find it.; Archie can't decide which girl to ask to the Christmas dance.; Different meanings of the word "up".; Veronica is keeping Reggie waiting.; Reggie needs Betty to help him with his plants.; Archie tries to help Moose study.; Mr. Lodge thinks the end of Archie's song is to far from the beginning of his song.; Jughead tells time with his stomach.; Archie takes his dad out for a walk.
