When the waves at the beach don't look promising, Veronica invites the gang over to her house to try the wave-making machine in the Lodges' swimming pool. But Mrs. Lodge's Garden Club is meeting at the house, and the kids from the Club are either swimming or watching movies in the Lodges' home theatre. Finally, Betty and Archie decide to go to Betty's house where its very quiet and they have plenty of privacy.; Betty is bored with nothing to do when Veronica calls. Betty then helps Veronica clean out her closet, clean the swimming pool and gather Veronica's dogs when the dog groomer shows up.; After Betty fixes Archie's car, Archie gives her a kiss. The kiss sends her to the clouds, practically flying over Riverdale. The feeling and the flying only last until she sees Archie with Veronica, when she gets a sinking feeling and comes back to earth.; Betty sees a leaf falling from a tree and panics because Fall is near. She literaly runs into Nancy and the two remember all the summer fun they've had. That gets them thinking of all the good things to come with Fall. Then Midge tells them of a teachers' strike, bursting Betty's happy thoughts once again.
