Kyon finally finishes his story and Haruhi immediately wants to know who the heroine was based on. Later Mikuru and Kyon discover that the essay Haruhi contributed will one day form the basis of future time travel physics.; Kyon is finding it difficult to produce his assignment for the Literary Club newsletter, which is to write a romantic love story.; Itsuku proposes a theory to Kyon that something new has affected December 18th. Haruhi begins to act subdued. And Kyon gets a visit from the Mikuru of the future, a visit that he at some point instigated.; While Haruhi and Koizumi prepare for a siege to keep the club room, Kyon continues to struggle with his story.; Miyokichi wants to investigate an abandoned house that's supposedly haunted and she asks Kyon to accompany her. Naturally Haruhi drags the S.O.S. Brigade along as well.
